Mrs. Carrie Adkins, age 71, of Cumming passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 following an extended illness.  She was a member of River of Life Church of God and was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Adkins.  Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Melvin C. Adkins; son and daughhter-in-law, Thomas and Theresa Adkins, all of Cumming; sisters, Sue Barnes and Alice Hatcher, both of Franklin, GA; brother, Earnest Hay of Dahlonega; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Graham officiating.  Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help defer funeral expenses.  Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, Cumming,  is in charge of the arrangements.
