Rev. Danny Hicks, age 51 of Cumming, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009. Danny was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and a former Pastor of Buffington Baptist Church. He was Song Leader at New Harmony where he had been a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Vacation Bible School Director, Church Camp Director and Choir Director. He was a gospel singer and loved singing. He had coached youth softball and basketball. Danny was preceded in death by his father Everett Hicks. He is survived by his wife Kathy Hicks of Cumming; daughters Tanya and Tamara Hicks of Cumming; mother Alice Mae Hicks of Free Home; sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Mike Livingston of Free Home; niece Courtney Sweatman and husband Tim of Dawsonville; great nieces Canaan and Shiloh Sweatman; father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Mae Bagwell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stanley and June Bagwell, Steven Bagwell and Stacey and Christie Bagwell; and several uncles, aunts and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1st at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Danny Orr officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until hour of service. Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, Cumming, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
