Everett Keith Headrick, 78, of Cumming passed away
Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Mr. Headrick was a devoted
family man whose word was his bond, a patriot who lived by
his principles, and a powerful influence in the lives of all
who knew him. He proudly served his country during the
Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force.
He retired from a career with Lockheed after 27 years of
service. A member of the First United Methodist Church of
Cumming, he sang in the choir and especially loved holiday
music. He taught his children and grandchildren by example
to be readers and lifetime learners. He also loved cheering
for the Denver Broncos.
Many benefited from his active participation in the Lions
Club, where his community service was honored with the
Melvin Jones Fellow Award.
Mr. Headrick left a legacy of service to God, family, and
country, and he will be sorely missed. He was preceded in
death by his son, Philip Headrick.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wanda Headrick;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Robyn Jones and husband
Brian of Dawsonville, Lisa Joseph and husband Tony of Mesa,
Ariz., and Allison Demijohn and husband Tim of Huntsville,
Ala; and five grandchildren, Valerie and Ryan Jones of
Dawsonville, Shalandra and Peter Joseph of Mesa, and Promise
Demijohn of Huntsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7,
2008 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will
follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
Cumming First United Methodist Church Music Department.
