Mrs. Gordie Faye Newton, age 88 of Cumming, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008. Mrs. Newton was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands Hershell Cook and Elon Newton. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Gerald Echols of Cumming; son Jerry Cook of Cumming; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several other relatives survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Haw Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Vaughan and Rev. Horace Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Haw Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram on Tuesday from 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service. Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
