Mr. James Henard Blackwell, age 68 of Cherokee county, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 at his home following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Hallman and Wynelle Blackwell and sisters Nancy Carlan and Jane Ward. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Malinda Blackwell; daughters and sons-in-law Judy and Harold Haygood, Jean Henson and Paige and Allen Prather; son and daughter-in-law Shane and Mendy Blackwell; grandchildren Selena Phillips, Carrie Haygood, Vanessa Henson, Jared Henson, Candace Henson, Ashley Strickland, Adam Prather, Aspen Bramlett, Austin Blackwell, Henard Alexander Blackwell and Abby Blackwell; great grandson Blaine Phillips; sisters Sue Cobb of Suwanee and Joann Hudgins of Pelzer, SC; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Manuel Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
