Mr. John B. Henderson Jr., age 80 of Alpharetta, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 following an extended illness.  He was a lifetime member and licensed preacher at Hopewell Baptist Church in Alpharetta.  Mr. Henderson retired from General Motors after 33 years of service.  He was a Past Master of the Alpharetta Masonic Lodge #235 F&AM where he received his 50 year apron.  He was preceded in death by 10 siblings. Survivors include:  wife of 54 years, Alleen Dorris Henderson of Alpharetta; sons and daughters-in-law, J. Dennis and Sharon Henderson of Alpharetta and Steve R. and Donna Henderson of Hoover, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Andy Phillips of Cumming; grandchildren, April, Kathleen, John Walter, and Reece; brother-in-law, Cline Stripland of Morrow; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Sutton, Rev. Bud Sutton and Rev. John Lummus officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.    In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund - 15730 Hopewell Road - Alpharetta, GA  30004.    Members of the Alpharetta Masonic lodge are requested to serve as honorary pallbearers. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia will be in charge of arrangements.
