Mr. Joseph E. Laney, Jr., age 51 of Cumming
(originally of Smyrna, GA), passed away Wednesday, April 2,
2008. He was a loving husband, daddy, papa and big brother.
Mr. Laney was a member of North Lanier Baptist Church in
Cumming and attended Browns Bridge Church in Cumming. He
graduated from Pebblebrook HS in Mableton, GA and Georgia
State University in Atlanta. Previous occupations were
substitute teacher in Forsyth County, manager of Wachovia
Credit Card Center, Manager of Pizza Hut and Manager of
Kroger. Most recently he ran "Papa Daycare" and cared for
his granddaughter, Abby. Mr. Laney was preceded in death by
his parents, Joe & Winnie Laney, Sr.
Survivors include: wife, Cindy Johnson Laney of Cumming;
Jessie & Mitch Lusk, Chris Laney and Scott Laney all of
Cumming; one granddaughter, Abby Lusk age 2; sisters, Lisa
Tidwell of Dallas, GA and Laurie Esmon of Mississippi;
several other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 3:00
p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron
DeMoss officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday,
April 3, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
American Heart Association, the GlobalX Mission at Brown's
Bridge Community Church or to a college fund for the Laney
Children.
Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia will be in
charge of arrangements. |
