Mr. Wallis Gilbert, age 74 a native and life long resident of Forsyth County, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008.  Mr. Gilbert traced his family roots in this area back to 1832.  He was a mason in residential construction for over 50 years.  Survivors include:  beloved wife of 46 years, Sara Gilbert of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Stan Erwin of Fort Mill, SC, Anita Whited and fiancée, Lee Dickson of Cumming, and Dale and Charles Flynn of Alpharetta; son and daughter-in-law, Everett Gilbert and Angela Owen of Gillsville;  grandchildren, Dallas, Dakota, Kayla, Maitland, Misty and Joshua; great grandson, Avery; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Leon Pruitt of Tignall, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:00 at Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. David Kiker officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, March 28, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia will be in charge of arrangements.
